What is Food Intolerance?

Food intolerance is a condition whereby your body shows symptoms similar to that of allergy due to certain food we are taking. It varies from person to person, on the reaction of the body towards a food allergen. A Full Food Allergy & Intolerance Test will enable you to know or identify your food triggers.

Symptoms of Food Intolerances

  • Skin: such as hives, rashes, itchiness, or swellings

  • Gastrointestinal: such as refulx, nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhoea, irritable                                                       bowel and constipation

  • Breathing: such as shortness of breath or a tight chest

  • Difficult behavior: such as in ADHD and Autism in children

The onset of symptoms is usually slower, and may be delayed by many hours after eating the offending food. The symptoms may also last for several hours, even into the next day and sometimes longer.

With food intolerance, it varies in different people the amount of food tolerable, some can tolerate a reasonable amount but if it is taken excessively (or too often) they get symptoms due to their body inability to tolerate unlimited amounts.
